Expressive Arts

Therapy

Expressive Arts Therapy is activating your imagination and uncovering aspects of yourself and the world around you that may be surprising, nurturing, and/or healing. You do not need to be an artist to benefit from the magic of engaging with the expressive arts.

I am currently in my second year at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓*, also known as Langara College, as a student of the renowned Expressive Arts Therapy program. I will complete the program Spring 2020.

Presently, I am completing my practicum(s) at Burnaby Hospice Society, Nootka Elementary
and Chartwell Carlton Care Residence

I will be available to facilitate one-on-one sessions as well as group therapy work upon completion of my certification.

Sliding scale will be available for students, QTBIPOC folks, disabled folks, and/or folks on limited income.

End of Life Care

In June 2019, I became a certified End of Life Care Doula.

Discussing end of life care is some what taboo in Canadian society. I believe we have the capacity to live a fuller life if we contemplate our own mortality. It is through this consideration that we uncover what is meaningful and who is important in our lives.

I am presently working on fulfilling my volunteer hours and client requirement before I am registered through the End of Life Doula Association of Canada.
I am particularly interested in working towards helping you create legacy work that you are proud to gift to loved ones after your passing as well as engaging in Death Care education discussions.

Workshops &
Trainings

I can facilitate arts-based workshops for you, your friends, or your organization. As a Semester in Dialogue alumni, I draw on my background in Dialogue to generate a warm space where people may feel a mix of comfort and wanting to take chances. I have experience leading mixed media workshops, zine making workshops, and am presently working on training to facilitate expressive arts therapy workshops.

If you are curious about me as a facilitator or, more broadly, me as a human, but are not quite ready to dip your toes into the expressive arts with a therapeutic intention, we can work together to design an arts-based workshop to begin building our relationship.
